The current beta of Skype for Linux 2.2.0.35 at least on my system has got a strange issue: just after logging in the window is closed again, on a console it says "aborted". This happens randomly, sometimes it takes up to 10 tries to stay logged in. There are similar reports on the skype pages and in their forums, suggested solution is to once delete the file shared.xml in your .Skype folder - only that does not even once solves it!

What does help is to create a subfolder "Logs" in the ".Skype" folder. Immediately Skype stays open like it used to. This folder will be flooded with lots of data, I just delete that regularly.
